Apologies that the above response does not make a distinction between the original article and your response to it (with which I agree). I think, though that our culture (especially Christian culture) has so conditioned us to thinking that paper (or vellum, papyrus or parchment) is *the* medium for carrying a text that we have not yet fully caught on to what other media will do to our perception of the text. Many Christians seem to have difficulties in accepting that their (written, paper) texts actually started life as an oral tradition (another change of medium).
