Mark Goodacre over on NTGateway has some news on a new series from Gorgias Press.
The Bible in Technology (BIT) is a series that explores the intersection between biblical studies and computer technology. It also includes studies that address the application of computer technology to cognate fields of ancient history. The series provides a forum for presenting and discussing advancements in this area, such as new software or techniques for analyzing biblical materials, online projects, and teaching resources. The series also seeks to reflect on the contribution and impact of computer technology on biblical research and teaching methods.
Looks very interesting.
If anyone knows of any research funding for this kind of thing, I have a student who is looking out for someone to support their work here at the Centre for Biblical Literacy. It is interesting to note that this series is looking at various different aspects of biblical literacy and technology.
- Using technology to aid research (data and text analysis, presentation, teaching)
- Impact of technology on bible research and teaching
That covers some of the stuff we are exploring too and so it is interesting to see the overlap. But there are some other areas which we are exploring here in Durham:
Interesting stuff...
